Publication: Microstructures, phase and mechanical characterisation of Al2O3-ZrO2-TiO2 coating produced by atmospheric plasma spraying together with our customer Gulhfi, PSI, SNI and FHNW

We are happy to announce that our paper “Microstructures, phase and mechanical characterisation of Al2O3-ZrO2-TiO2 coating produced by atmospheric plasma spraying” is accepted to Open Ceramics. For this publication we worked together with Armando Salito (Gulhfi AG), Michael de Wild & Lukas Graf (FHNW), Margie Olbinado & Michal Andrzejewski (PSI), Susanne Erpel & Alexander Vogel & Marcus Wyss (SNI), Geoffrey Darut (CNRS) and Simon Bode (KIT).

In this work we demonstrate the use of Synchrotron X-Ray Diffraction and Synchrotron X-ray Laminography for the characterization of the phases and defects of the newly developed ternary ceramic coating. The nano- and microstructures are further investigated by electron microscopy. From preliminary mechanical testing, the ternary ceramic coating shows good potential in high wear applications.
